Invisible Corsets

The end of 2020 felt like no other. While many anticipated a night of ecstasy, relief, and a celebration worthy of the cause, in truth it all fell a little flat. Even in a city that has been out of lockdown for months and is operating pretty much as usual, we all rolled from one night of summer drinking into the next and midnight passed with a countdown, a kiss, and an unshakeable feeling that nothing had really changed.

So when I asked my loved ones if they had made resolutions, I was unsurprised to be met with a chorus of “Not really — not yet — have you?”
